Q&A Episode

3 Big Questions Answered:

1. How can “Big Deal vs. Little Deal” become a regulation tool for both children and parents? We explore how recognizing the difference between a child's big feelings and the size of the actual problem helps adults hold boundaries calmly, avoid escalating little moments into big ones, and model regulation for their children.

2. How can we create a quiet space that actually helps a child regulate? We discuss why a child's bedroom can be an important, positive regulation space—not a place for punishment—and why the space needs to reflect the individual child's developmental, sensory, and emotional needs.

3. How do we figure out which regulation tools actually work for our child? Rather than choosing tools because they are popular or because they sound calming, we look at how parents can observe their child's individual sensory needs and identify what helps that particular child get organized, regulated, and ready to problem-solve.
