It All Started at a Kitchen Table

Like many great partnerships, ours didn’t start in a corporate boardroom - it started in a moment of intense parenting survival.

This podcast started because our paths crossed exactly where yours might be right now. Incredibly stressed over poorly handled situations at her son’s school, Catherine hired Chelsea to save her son’s school year, and Chelsea ended up saving her sanity. They worked together - one of us fighting as a mother to get her child the right support, and the other stepping in as the developmental expert to build the bridge.

That initial crisis evolved into a deep, years-long partnership; Chelsea began working with both of Catherine’s sons. We would spend hours huddled over coffee at Catherine’s kitchen table, bouncing ideas back and forth. We cried, we laughed, and most importantly, we found strategies that actually worked.

Catherine went from feeling underwater to finally feeling like she had a dedicated advocate in her corner that understood her children. This podcast is a way of pulling up a chair for you at our kitchen table. Consider us your official support team, because no one should have to navigate this journey alone.

Our Guiding Principles

You know your child best. Professionals have the data, but parents have the blueprint. We believe the best outcomes happen when parents and experts work as equals.

Laughter is a coping mechanism. This journey is profound, but it’s also easy to feel completely weighed down. On this podcast, we don’t use humor to minimize the hard days - we use it to survive them. Sometimes a good chuckle is the only alternative to a good cry (which we also whole-heartedly endorse).

Support the child in front of you. We believe in looking the reality of the situation in the eye, doing your own deep research, and refusing to put your head in the sand. You don’t have to accept a recommendation just because it’s the easiest option for a school. We are here to help you get informed, ask the right questions, and stand firm as the ultimate advocate your child needs.

There is no “normal” - and it shouldn’t be the goal anyway. It may feel like everyone else has it easier sometimes on this journey, but a diagnosis is a roadmap for support, not a definition of your child’s worth. When we exhaust ourselves trying to force a child to fit a standard mold, we risk dimming the very light that makes them who they are. We aren’t here to help you chase a generic standard of normal; we are here to understand, celebrate, and support your brilliantly wired child (AND YOU) exactly as they are.
